This is the first corned beef and cabbage recipe I accept ever made. Information technology was so expert that I have no need to ever try another. Besides the fact that it was very easy to make, it tastes astonishing! My boyfriend says it is his new favorite dish. The only thing I would recommend is to trim the majority of fatty off of the brisket considering information technology tends to either stay on the meat, or melt off into your vegetables.

Served this last nighttime to husband and guests. Delicious! This will be my go-to recipe for corned beef! The only affair I will change is to steam the cabbage separately to retain the pretty green color, equally putting it in the crock-pot made it an ugly brown (Tasty though!) Give thanks you for this wonderful recipe!
10/18/2012
This was delicious by the recipe, but I may tweak it a little scrap for more carrots & potatoes.
03/18/2013
I accept been getting recipes from this website for several years now. This the my first fourth dimension that I'm rating a recipe. This recipe is FANTASTIC!! I used white potatoes (nearly 6) and about three handfuls of baby carrots. I cut my meat in half and then it would improve fit my crockpot and cut some of the fat off. I waited a couple of hours before I added half a large caput of cabbage. The flavor was first-class. This recipe is definitely a keeper!!
01/20/2013
Easy to make and great season. Next time I will add the cabbage When is cooked half thru. The cabbage did not keep it'southward color.
03/22/2013
This was one of the best recipes I've ever tried for corned beef. I liked the little hint of sweetness. I added brown sugar instead of white. I think 1-2 cups of water would be sufficient. I did not add the cabbage. I roasted that separately with onions in the oven, simply because I like that better. I'thou quite certain this volition be my "go-to" recipe from at present on for St. Patrick'due south Day!
12/06/2012
I made this recipe, as is, and information technology was delicious. Definitely agree that perchance more potatoes and carrots.
03/17/2015
I made this, but with a slight alteration. I added ii cups of water and ane cup of dark ale beer. I substituted brown carbohydrate for white saccharide. I too put the brisket on top of the potatoes, carrots and onion and "and then" poured the whisked liquid slowly over the brisket. I placed the cabbage wedges around the beef (careful not to submerge them)and overlapped where necessary and sprinkled the wedges with seasoned salt. I set the timer for 10 hours, and on the 9th hour, I slowly submerged the cabbage wedges into the liquid around the brisket. Everyone raved nearly it and asked for more! Definitely a keeper!

Great!!!
03/17/2014
While I am not a corned beef connoisseur, I was asked to cook this for Saint Patrick's Day for my girlfriend. What I can say, is that this is the best corned beef dinner I take tasted, and she LOVED information technology!! Thanks for the recipe. I am looking forward to the grilled Ruben Sandwiches tomorrow!! Only do equally well-nigh people stated and only steam the cabbage for the last hour.
03/17/2014
Ok I need to say that I've never been a fan of corned beef, I use a smoked shoulder for my boiled dinner (no hate comments please). But my dear is always looking for corned beef on St Patrick'due south solar day. So this year I decided I'd still make my traditional dinner, AND melt a corned beef in my crock pot. I looked at many of the dull cooker recipes and decided on this one given the ease and the swell reviews. I followed the recipe to a T, other than I left out the potato and cabbage (because I was cooking those with my shoulder), I did add the other veggies for season, and I used a flat cut of corned beef. I permit it cook overnight on depression (it prob cooked nearly 11 hours). This is definitely the manner to cook corned beefiness, it came out very tender and tasty! This recipe was VERY easy to put together, all the ingredients were things I had on paw. Even if you are non a fan of corned beefiness (equally I'm not) but you lot want to give information technology a try, I highly recommend this recipe! Give thanks you Trisheee!! You lot have (near) made me a fan of corned beef, and that'due south not an easy job.
03/18/2013
So easy to brand. Used baby carrots and red potatoes. I was not sure it was going to have enough flavor. I was tempted to add broth instead of water but went by the recipe.Information technology was very flavorful and so like shooting fish in a barrel to make! It was nice to put information technology all in the crockpot and take dinner all ready later.
03/09/2014
This is a nifty recipe! This is the only recipe I tin become my son and hubby to swallow! I substituted the seasoning package for 1 teaspoon allspice, one teaspoon ground mustard, & 1 teaspoon dill weed. Added everything else like the recipe & 1 knorr stock beefiness! Great recipe! Thank you lot!
03/28/2016
This was the get-go time I used a apartment cutting corned beef (rather than point cut), and information technology was MUCH less fatty, and worth the divergence in price. I started the crockpot on High, and forgot to turn it down, merely information technology turned out fine. Put the potatoes and carrots in the pot after about 3 hours - they cooked for 3 hours - and that was perfect. I put the cabbage wedges on top for the last hour. It turned out great!
03/17/2015
I will never try another recipe. My husband is not a lover of this meal and he said "this is the best corned beef you've always made!" I cooked in crock pot on loftier for ii hours the 4-5 hrs on depression. Put spices, corned beefiness with garlic and onion from the start. Added cabbage, carrots and tater when turned to low. Yummy!
03/xv/2013
This volition be the third year I've used this recipe for St. Patrick's Solar day. So easy and comes out and then delicious. Similar most other reviewers, I too add together more carrots & potatoes. Otherwise, I wouldn't modify a matter.
03/19/2014
This recipe was not bad! My corned beef came with no spice bundle and then I looked upwardly what was in the packet. I used cloves, ginger, brown sugar instead of white sugar, and a cinnamon stick along with the rest of the ingredients in the recipe. My family all raved about how skilful it was.
03/28/2013
This turned out perfect- added a pound of baby carrots and v potatoes- per reviews- added the cabbage the last 60 minutes!!! Was amazing!!! The first time I accept always made or ate!! Thank you!!! Volition def make again!!!
02/25/2013
Came out prefect! The hub ate 3 huge helpings! WIN!
06/12/2013
I just made this the other dark and it was great. We loved the taste. thanks for sharing.
03/xvi/2014
I would add together a bottle of Guiness Draught for more flavor and substitute brown carbohydrate for white sugar.
xi/03/2013
The meat came out smashing simply I was disappointed with the vegetables. I followed the recipe except I left out the potatoes and added more onion. The vegetables were really bland. I can't effigy out where I went wrong. I did one hr on high and 6 hours on depression. Next fourth dimension I will put the meat on the bottom and add together more seasoning.
x/21/2013
This was a huge hit with my husband and my toddler son, both of whom gobbled it right up and practically drank the sauce out of their dishes. Personally, I found it a bit as well salty, but I can't mistake the recipe for that since the recipe doesn't even call for table salt. I judge my particular cut of corned beefiness was really salty, or there was a lot of salt in the included spice packet. Next time I think I'll try the suggestion of adding more cabbage and other veggies to help to soak upward more of the salty broth. In that location volition be a adjacent time, though, since this was such a hit with the boys.
03/xiv/2015
I make this every year for St Pat'southward and it e'er comes out great! And then easy to brand.
04/14/2013
I guess I oasis't had corned beef very often, but I admit I was disappointed that my corned beef wasn't a scrap more than tender than information technology turned out. I tried a flat cutting and a point cutting thinking I would acquire which I liked best. Neither was very tender after 8+ hours of cooking. I also learned that the greenish cabbage looks far ameliorate with the corned beef than the red that I tried. (It volition dye your potatoes and carrots regal) So make sure you buy the greenish cabbage. The flavor was pretty skilful, it just wasn't every bit adept every bit I had hoped.
03/23/2013
I will make the cabbage separately-cutting into chunks and pour sweet milk over it and steam-colour is retained and the cabbage-OMG!! so skilful!
03/17/2013
I tried this recipe yesterday (got a deadening start). Put it all in the fridge and heated it up today. Delicious! I waited for my hubby to say something & finally I said "Well???" He looked at me and said "Perfect". I thought and then also. Thanks for sharing this with u.s. Trisheee. Its great. But change I made was to apply ii Splenda packets instead of sugar, since hubby is diabetic. Will definitely use this from now on, as written. Yummm! Spoodledike.
03/16/2015
Dynamite recipe!!! I used a 1 tin can of Bud Light and the rest with water. I also used a iv pound Eye of Circular Corned Beefiness Brisket which isn't that easy to find, only information technology has less fat, shrinks less, and is wonderful! It also doesn't fall apart. My guests couldn't cease raving about it. Normally this is a meal I reserve for St. Patty's Day, but I'll be having this several times throughout the year, thanks to this stress-gratis wonderful recipe!
03/17/2014
This is super succulent and easy! I did mine in the crockpot. I don't recommend cooking the vegetables like this - I remember they taste terrible like this but peradventure that's simply my personal prefence. The meat is crazy good though! I was lazy and just did the sugar, vinegar, water, garlic, and seasoning packet and it's delish. Information technology seems pretty hard to screw upward. Fair alarm - this recipe will brand your unabridged firm odour... interesting.
06/x/2018
I made the corned beef pet the recipe but chose to die the potatoes and cabbage separate . As an Irish gaelic family I take made tons of corned beef and cabbage dinners!!! I got the message loud and clear this is the recipe that I will be making going forrard ! Thank you got the recipe!
03/eighteen/2013
Sooooo good! Made information technology for St. Patrick's Day and it was so easy and and so succulent. I retrieve I was a little heavy handed with the salt and pepper. We had mixed reviews on whether it even so needed more or not. I personally idea it was perfect but equally I said, I added a little more than than the recipe called for simply that'southward merely a preference affair and easily customizable afterwards serving. Thanks for the recipe! Will definitely make this once more.

06/03/2014
The simply corned beefiness and cabbage recipe my family will eat! Loved!
03/17/2016
The whole family loved this! I used more than potatoes and we love garlic so I used 8 cloves. I used vegetable broth instead of water and added half a pint of Guinness. I followed the advice of other reviewers and only added the cabbage in the concluding hour -- it nonetheless had some green and some crunch to it. Delicious! And the meat just fell apart with a fork.
03/18/2013
Delicious and and so easy! I used redskins cut in half and babe carrots. The only thing is I have a six quart crockpot and it was filled to the top, so I only put half the cabbage in (for season) and steamed the other one-half right before it was finished. This will be my staple for St. Party'due south Day from now on!!
03/21/2017
Aside from preparing the cabbage separately (I have another recipe for it) I fabricated this as written. I wont be on the chase for another corned beefiness recipe because this is DELICIOUS!!!! Due to the long cook time, I made sure to keep the chunks of potatos and carrots quite large to prevent them from getting mushy. This one is a winner!!!
03/twenty/2017
This was the best corned beef and cabbage that I have ever made. Information technology was super like shooting fish in a barrel to make. Some people said that it was too salty but i constitute that before you put it in your slow cooker y'all need to rinse off the brine that it comes packaged in. Yummy. Cheers for this delicious recipe.
11/08/2016
You saved our corn beef and cabbage night! I wanted to arrive for dinner, merely didn't accept time for complex instructions. Calculation all ingredients at the same time meant I could get on with my day and I didn't demand to go to the shop for beer and mustard. It came out perfect! Hubby was delighted! The just thing I did unlike is I used baby potatoes which never need peeling. And they retain their shape improve. I brand pocket-sized cut into each one and then they can soak in the flavors.
03/17/2019
I love this recipe! I've made this at least four or v times and get rave reviews from everyone who eats it. I don't make any adjustments, only follow the recipe as written. The apple cider really adds flavor and tenderizes the corned beef.
03/25/2017
Followed the recipe exactly. It was delicious!
04/01/2013
Ken loved information technology. Use a bigger brisket next fourth dimension.
04/02/2013
Not bad for St. Patrick's Solar day. I doubled it for a party of 25 people and it was a hit. I added more potatoes and carrots, as suggested.
04/04/2013
Easy and unproblematic. I made a soup with the leftovers. Just be certain to try and scrape off the seasoning parcel ingredients if you effort the soup. Something in in that location was not good.
03/17/2014
I fabricated this for Saint Patrick's Mean solar day dinner this night and my husband loved information technology. He said information technology was 1 of my ameliorate corn beef and cabbage meals. Definitely going to save this one for future use.

03/20/2018
Wonderful recipe and really easy. I agree with another reviewer who said the fleck of vinegar and sugar added to the flavor. I did cook the potatoes separately considering we like them that fashion.
04/08/2017
Was great and tender. Did not use the vinegar or sugar!
04/04/2016
Best corned beefiness and cabbage I have fabricated yet! Great recipe and very piece of cake! Didn't accept apple cider vinegar but it still came out wonderful! I bought a iv lb. brisket and quartered 1 red onion, this recipe had merely the right corporeality of veggies (we love our veggies.) I cooked it on deadening for 12 hours, the meat melted in our mouths, even the fatty part tasted good! Will exist forwarding this recipe to family and friends, can't wait to make it again!
09/15/2017
I followed the recipe, and didn't like it. Information technology was too sweetness and didn't care for the taste of the cider vinegar.
04/25/2016
Great recipe and easy with the crock pot. I dear that the corned beef doesn't sit it as well much liquid and then it isn't soggy, only lovely and tender.
03/16/2015
I followed this recipe precisely and gave it i star merely considering the meat was good. I deducted iv stars because the flavor of the vegetables and the cabbage overcooked. The repast would have been far more pleasing had I used the corned beef spice parcel merely, for flavoring.
ten/26/2017
Succulent! Everybody loved it and the extra veggies rounded out the meal nicely. Volition definitely make again

03/fourteen/2018
Flavor was ok, potatoes were good, but the carrots and cabbage were like mush by the time it spent all solar day in the slow cooker. Next time I might attempt calculation those 2 items for the final hour on loftier.
03/18/2019
This was a skilful ane that me, my son and one of my granddaughters enjoyed. However, my other granddaughter wasn't every bit big of a fan considering of the cabbage. This i is a expert one and be sure to apply the left overs to make some Rueben'southward. Found a great one from this site.
04/28/2015
Best corned beefiness and cabbage I've ever made!
03/14/2014
very good & and then easy !
03/11/2014
Bland ! followed the recipe to a tee. Probably would have tasted ameliorate by having all the vegetables with simply a bouillon cube for flavor.
04/07/2016
Splendid equally is! I added the Cabbage half way through cooking, per other user's suggestions. It worked perfectly.
05/19/2015
I beloved this! It is the kickoff fourth dimension I accept e'er cooked corned beefiness. It was delicious! It was also very tender. My married man loved it. I cooked exactly as the directions stated. Also it was an excellent idea to add the cabbage at the concluding hour of cooking. I prefer a lilliputian spicy. So to change information technology upwardly a fleck cut the measurements in half for vinegar and sugar. Add jalapeno or habanero peppers. Use beefiness stock instead of water adds to the flavor. Viola! Delicious!
02/11/2015

Never had better cabbage. Followed everything, but omitted the carrots because we don't like cooked carrots. This was great and I am not a fan of beef or potatoes, but this was soooo expert.
03/17/2017
The flavor was smashing! My only outcome was the "point cut" corned beef I used. I would highly recommend using flat cut. By the time I cut all the fat off, I had probably i.5lb of meat instead of three. I'grand a potato lover so I would add more potatoes as well. Will definitely exist making this again with the right cut of corned beef.
03/17/2015
Very succulent! Will exist making it again!
09/12/2018

03/xviii/2017
Delicious. I made this (no changes) for a St. Patrick'south Day celebration at work and thank goodness I doubled the recipe (2 crock pots) because people were going back for seconds and thirds!
04/21/2019
I actually wound up cooking information technology for 15 hours. When it was done I glazed information technology in the oven with a honey and mustard mixture I had leftover from making chicken wings. My son said that the corned beef was the best he'd e'er eaten. Everyone loved it.

03/23/2019
Then piece of cake! There was so much in my crock pot the lid wouldn't close until it cooked down a chip. The vegetables were over cooked. Next fourth dimension I will put the meat on the lesser and the veggies on peak adding the cabbage later. Good season.
03/21/2019

03/21/2020
It was good. A bit sugariness. I would cut back on the sweetness and get in more savory. All in all, not bad. The meat shrunk a chip but very tender.
09/21/2019
Turned out real good. Fabricated a few changes. Used russet potatoes with the skin. Used 2cups of broth & 1cup of h2o. I'm still learning to tweak when to add together the cabbage. I don't want to cook it the whole time. Added it as well late this time. But, the meat, potatoes & onion were nifty. (No carrots)
09/20/2019
good recipe, I only omitted the cabbage since I like to melt that dissever with onions and bacon. I also added one tspn of crushed red pepper flakes since it gives the broth more than flavor.
03/24/2022
